After your compromised tooth is prepared, it is scanned with an electronic camera that allows you to see the image on a video monitor as you sit in the dental chair. The new, permanent crown is designed from this scan and then automatically milled out from a solid ceramic block. This is accomplished so precisely and quickly that the new, all- ceramic crown can be permanently bonded to your tooth that appointment.

Our CEREC crowns are ceramic, which has the same characteristics as a normal, healthy tooth. It can withstand the daily grind of chewing and is not affected by hot or cold temperatures. Because they are all ceramic, that strange metal taste that is sometimes associated with traditional crowns does not exist. And, the smooth ceramic finish is so smooth that bacteria finds it hard to "stick around".
